Tying the project together are real-life samples provided by people from all over the world, intended to represent a "snapshot of a day in the life of humankind." It's a concept that unfolds with the ease and naturalness only an accomplished musician / DJ could pull off. Weaving these samples throughout the album, the result is a combustible mix of instrumentals variously built on both synthesizer and acoustic instrumentation, alternately lush and lyrical, primal and orchestral. Each tune is crafted with a keen eye towards melody and dynamics, and utilizes chord and aural changes that keep the proceedings both fresh and forward moving. While A.M.'s latest CD, "Let's Spend the Day Together" is, in fact, an album perfect for a party / club setting, there is so much going on here that only multiple listens will render full appreciation, and ultimately reveal the depth of compositions and the superb musicianship of the artist and his collaborators.

"Atlantide Sommersa" is a beautifully crafted, new age piano instrumental album from Italian musician Roberto Santucci. This is a concept album, having the Jules Verne novel "20 Miles Alloys Under the Sea" as the inspiration for all of the songs. It is clear that Santucci feels an emotional connection to the novel, and he puts that emotion within each of these songs in a manner in which they could serve as a soundtrack to a live action version of the novel. It is also clear that Santucci is one of the better pianists in his genre, and each of these ten tracks is solid, seamless, and timeless. "Atlandide Sommersa" is well-produced, and all of Santucci's piano work sounds clean and professional. "White Golden Dreams" introduces the album beautifully with a rather dreamy, lulling piano progression on the high end. "Anthynea" is a song inspired by the queen of the submerged city with a lighter sound and skillful and emotional piano work that uses the entire piano, seemingly all at once. The entire album is fantastic, with a lovely lulling quality perfect for relaxation, and superb, inspired piano work from one of the best in the business. Fans of new age, piano instrumentals, and Jules Verne-inspired music should check "Atlantide Sommersa" out.

"Native Slovak" is a flute-infused instrumental world music album from flutist extraordinaire David Martinka. With this album, Martinka digs deep into his flute repertoire and presents the listener with classic flute styles inspired by both Native Slovakian and Native American flute courting styles. Some of the sounds Martinka creates are familiar and clear, like those one would expect from an woodwind ensemble. Others are drastically different, tribal sounding, and similar in sound to the didgeridoo. The songs on "Native Slovak" are pure, powerful, and spiritual and match the emotional feeling that each song title suggests. The album is also very well recorded, so the listener doesn't miss a single note. "Rodný Slovák (Native Slovak)" opens the album with an intense Native American sound that gives the listener a feel for the entire album, created by Martinka's use of the Fujara to give much of the song that didgeridoo-esque sound. "Do videnia dievča (I will See Her Soon)" is a mellow, calming, and emotional track with a more orchestral flute sound that tells the story the song title suggests. Overall, "Native Slovak" is an impressive album that shows Martinka's talent as a flutist on a variety of different flutes. If you enjoy world-class flute playing that tells a good story, check out "Native Slovak."

Don't try to predict what is coming next because it's not going to happen. It is also refreshing to hear an instrumental artist who has a great sense of musical mood to compliment their raw ability. The quality of production is very good and the band behind Eric really compliments him well. Highlights include "The Flu," with a killer lick, fat beat, rolling bass line and overall guitar awesomeness. "Guthrie" features some of Eric's best soloing and is backed by some quirky jazz elements. "Broken Angel " closes things out and will take you back to the classic metal days. Especially impressive, is John's excellent piano and keyboard work, and the excellent musicianship throughout the CD. The CD has a very professional sound. "Montery Getaway" is one of our favorite tracks. It demonstrates the versatility of John's piano skills. The compositon is very soothing and breathtaking all at the same time. It has a Bob Baldwin kind of feel to it. The reverb from the piano jumps out at you and almost makes you feel like you're right in the room with him. Please go out and purchase this CD. The artist behind this exquisite work is completely, heartily welded in the tunes as he plays with a sense of dexterity, vivacity and wit. His manner of blend of instruments is magical. All the tracks in this CD sound very good. However, we see ourselves playing the track "When the saints are marching" over and over again. Frank's well arranged instruments give this traditional number a contemporarily Latino feel, rich in Jazz influence. The title "In a down and dirty Bar" has a skillful trumpet part and a rich Jazzy touch. If you enjoy hauntingly ethereal instrumental melodies with Jazz and blues flavor, you will enjoy this CD. "Paradise" is a CD filled with tasteful instrumental tracks, by John Pedersen. One listen to this CD and we were struck by the excellent musicianship. Prevalent throughout the CD is tasteful and musically challenging piano and keyboard work. The CD kept our interest by not only including a number of up-tempo mainly keyboard and/or synthesizer tracks, but also mixed in some softer piano tracks and some full band smooth jazz tracks as well. Our favorite tracks include the up-tempo "City Lights Below" with its excellent guitar and keyboard solos and bass break, all backed by an excellent groove. The title track is another one of our favorite tracks, with its strong synthetic beat and neat synthesizer work. This is excellent backing music as you go through your daily tasks or work, as the songwriting and instrumentation flows very nicely together, yet the music, especially the backing drums, has enough pop and up-tempo, to keep you alert. "Point of No Return" with its answering dual synthesizers and backing keyboard, is a good example of the excellent synthesizer work on the CD.
