"Groovide" by John Pedersen (smooth jazz artist from California)

The CD "Groovidi" by John Pedersen is an impressive smooth jazz CD. The instrumentation and production are tasteful and the melodies are memorable. Especially impressive, is John's excellent piano and keyboard work, and the excellent musicianship throughout the CD. The CD has a very professional sound. "Montery Getaway" is one of our favorite tracks. It demonstrates the versatility of John's piano skills. The compositon is very soothing and breathtaking all at the same time. It has a Bob Baldwin kind of feel to it. The reverb from the piano jumps out at you and almost makes you feel like you're right in the room with him. Please go out and purchase this CD. We recommend it to anyone who appreciates smooth melodies and stylish beats.

"Island Bars" by Frank Tuma (instrumental latin jazz artist from Florida)

The CD entitled "Island Bars" by Frank Tuma is an instrumentally beautiful work of art wonderfully mixed with Jazz and blues with a strong Caribbean feel . This CD is full of classical and traditional grooves combined in a revolutionary way, yet holding its strong quality of reminiscence. The musicianship and recording quality on the CD are splendid. The artist behind this exquisite work is completely, heartily welded in the tunes as he plays with a sense of dexterity, vivacity and wit. His manner of blend of instruments is magical. All the tracks in this CD sound very good. However, we see ourselves playing the track "When the saints are marching" over and over again. Frank's well arranged instruments give this traditional number a contemporarily Latino feel, rich in Jazz influence. "Paradise" by John Pedersen

"Paradise" is a CD filled with tasteful instrumental tracks, by John Pedersen. One listen to this CD and we were struck by the excellent musicianship. Prevalent throughout the CD is tasteful and musically challenging piano and keyboard work. The CD kept our interest by not only including a number of up-tempo mainly keyboard and/or synthesizer tracks, but also mixed in some softer piano tracks and some full band smooth jazz tracks as well. Our favorite tracks include the up-tempo "City Lights Below" with its excellent guitar and keyboard solos and bass break, all backed by an excellent groove. The title track is another one of our favorite tracks, with its strong synthetic beat and neat synthesizer work. Kirlian Aura's self-titled CD is a creative journey of instrumental progressive rock. The tracks are filled with excellent musicianship and the recording is crisp and clean. The synthesizer and keyboard work is melodic and impressive, providing for many layers of creative and pleasant sounds. This is excellent backing music as you go through your daily tasks or work, as the songwriting and instrumentation flows very nicely together, yet the music, especially the backing drums, has enough pop and up-tempo, to keep you alert. "Point of No Return" with its answering dual synthesizers and backing keyboard, is a good example of the excellent synthesizer work on the CD. "Clearing Skies" is one of our favorite tracks, with a strong rhythmic groove, and excellent lead synthesizer riffs. If you enjoy instrumental progressive rock, you will enjoy this CD. "Scarlet Sundance" by Peripheral Bliss

  "Scarlet Sundance" is an ambient CD with tranquil, flowing tracks. The strength in the CD lies in the many keyboard/synthesizer sounds layered on top of each other and transitioning between each other to create tracks that gradually progress and change to create a beautiful and imaginative soundscape. Close your eyes and listen to these tracks and feel yourself floating into the sky. The tracks on this CD are excellent as background music as you go through your daily tasks, if you want to get inspired, or if you want to relax. Our favorite track is the title track, with its interesting instrumentation changes including memorable bass loops, guitar loops, and percussive work. "Green" by James Sudakow

  Wow! "Green" is a creative instrumental CD that features the amazing electric violin work of James Sudakow. James' work with the electric violin is groundbreaking to us in terms of effectively using an instrument not typically associated with rock music. His violin screams as he flies up and down his fret board like a rock guitar virtuoso. The instrument with its amplified sound fits amazingly well on these progressive rock tracks. The backing band is tight and the recording quality is good as well. On tracks such as "Red," James' violin work is amazing. The percussive backing work on Black is particularly effective at providing an interesting mood to the electric violin work. If you enjoy rock guitar virtuosos, or listening to the amazing skill of an extremely accomplished musician, you will enjoy this CD. Pick up a copy today!

"When the Boat Comes In" by Andy Findon

“When the Boat Comes In” is an eclectic compilation of songs that feature the very talented wind instrument musician Andy Findon. Andy’s virtuoso level of musicianship is evident throughout the CD. His arrangements are rich and multi-layered with an amazing number of different sounds blended together. The production and recording quality are very good. The songs vary greatly in style and genre, and include many songs/melodies that you will recognize, including the rock standard, Stairway to Heaven. The tracks are ordered in a manner that keeps your attention by taking you from one genre/tempo to an extremely different genre/tempo on the next track. We enjoy the fast-moving tracks the most, such as Molly on the Shore, Duelling Bamboos and Sabre Dance, which also includes some very creative style changes within the track. Whether you enjoy listening to the creative work of a musical master of his craft, or are particularly a fan of wind instruments such flute and clarinet, you will enjoy this CD. Pick up a copy today!
