"Unconditional" by Andrew Gorny (Instrumental Artist from Portland, Oregon(OR))

"Unconditional" is the impressive debut release from solo finger-style guitarist Andrew Gorny. Gorny has crafted a stellar group of compositions, creating an alluring and interesting collection of instrumental music. The marriage of organic and non-organic elements is a big part of this piece of work as Andrew's crisp and clean style is subtly supported by ambience and mood driving elements. The frenzied and chaotic "Pretentious" is a stunning opener, showcasing Gorny's virtuosity and mastery of the guitar. The title track "Unconditional" is a moving and tender ballad, with beautifully structured melodies. "Beatin' Tha Gutz" is of a more funky nature, with Gorny weaving his lines over a definitive, smooth groove. "Double-Edged Sword" is another showcasing of Gorny's dazzling technique, demonstrating amazing facility as well as musical depth. The album closes with "Michael Beautiful," a fitting tribute to Michael Hedges, one of Gorny's major influences. "Unconditional" is an inspiring album that will be enjoyed by fans of instrumental guitar in the style of Michael Hedges and Pat Metheny.

"Solo Guitar" by Nicola Boschetti (Instrumental Artist from Italy)

RadioIndy is pleased to present Nicola Boschetti with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Solo Guitar"

"Solo Guitar" is an instrumental album with elements of new age, blues, and jazz brought to life by the musical stylings of extraordinary Italian acoustic guitarist Nicola Boschetti. Boschetti has a humbling amount of control over his instrument and creates a great layering effect through the fingerstyle form. He has the talent of American folk guitarist Leo Kottke and the European and new age influences of Ottmar Liebert. When combined, the two influences create something unique and, moreover, a great listen. With his guitar, Boschetti is quite capable of conveying emotion, composing longing love songs, and telling a story with a sound narrative structure. "Solo Guitar" maintains the simplicity of the solo instrument in its production and sounds better than similar over-produced albums you would hear at the Sutter Home Winery. "Giochi Di Luce" displays Boschetti's excellent layering skills to the point of disbelief that all that beautiful noise is coming from one instrument. "New Blues" has a great blues rhythm and more great layering, as Boschetti at once manages the solo and the rhythm section. "Solo Guitar" is a refined album from an incredible arranger and guitarist in Nicola Boschetti. Fans of fingerstyle acoustic guitar with an Eastern European influence, pick up "Solo Guitar."-Chris & the RadioIndy.com Review Team

"I am a dreamer" by Anne van Schothorst (Instrumental Artist from The Netherlands)

RadioIndy is pleased to present Anne van Schothorst with a GrIndie Award for the CD "I am a dreamer"

"I am a dreamer" is a seven-track improvisational acoustic album from talented Dutch harpist Anne van Schothorst. Anne's compositions are captivating and relaxing. The listener can immediately tell that she pours her heart and soul into these compositions and that she is one with her harp. The high point of this album is that it is entirely improvisational, enabling Anne to take a theme, or a previously composed piece of music, turn it on its head and make it uniquely hers. Anne successfully conveys the emotions of each song solely through the harp, and the songs on "I am a dreamer" take the listener into a dreamlike state, perfect for introspection, meditation and outright relaxation. This album is also well-produced and sounds great, with each note clear and crisp. "Snowwhite bird" opens the album with beautiful high notes and introduces the listener to Anne's sheer talent. "Bonjour tristesse," literally "hello sadness," provokes the emotion through the vibration of the harp strings. "I am a dreamer" is filled with great classical and improvisational harp compositions from Anne van Schothorst with great calming effects. Fans of talented, relaxing harp progressions and classical music, will find this album to be a nice addition.-Chris & the RadioIndy.com Review Team
